Mapping quantitative trait loci and predicting candidate genes for leaf angle in maize

چکیده

Leaf angle of maize is a fundamental determinant plant architecture and an important trait influencing photosynthetic efficiency crop yields. To broaden our understanding the genetic mechanisms leaf formation, we constructed F 3:4 recombinant inbred lines (RIL) population to map QTL for angle. The RIL was derived from cross between model line (B73) with expanded elite (Zheng58) compact architecture. A sum eight were detected on chromosome 1, 2, 3, 4 8. Single explained 4.3 14.2% variance. Additionally, some confirmed through heterogeneous family (HIF) approach. Furthermore, twenty-four candidate genes predicted whole-genome re-sequencing expression analysis in qLA02-01and qLA08-01 regions. These results will be helpful elucidate mechanism formation benefit clone favorable allele Besides, this develop novel varieties ideal marker-assisted selection.

Quantitative trait loci mapping of panicle traits in rice

In this study 90 individuals of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) were developed by crossing subspecies of japonica rice cultivar, ‘Nagdong’ and an indica type cultivar, ‘Cheongcheong’. These individuals were used to identify the quantitative trait loci of panicle traits using SSR markers. A genetic linkage map was constructed using one hundred fifty four simple sequence repeat ...

Cold sweetening in diploid potato: mapping quantitative trait loci and candidate genes.

A candidate gene approach has been used as a first step to identify the molecular basis of quantitative trait variation in potato. Sugar content of tubers upon cold storage was the model trait chosen because the metabolic pathways involved in starch and sugar metabolism are well known and many of the genes have been cloned. Tubers of two F(1) populations of diploid potato grown in six environme...

Quantitative Trait Loci Mapping

With the increasing number of polymorphic markers identified on the genetic map, positional cloning has become an extremely powerful tool, permitting the linkage and identification of a large number of disease genes. As the human genome project pro gresses and the gene map becomes as dense as the microsatellite polymorphism map, scientists will identify more disease genes through a combination...

[Construction of a SSR linkage map and mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL) for leaf angle and leaf orientation with an elite maize hybrid].

Maize (Zea mays L.) breeders have begun selecting for more compact plants for higher density planting in order to increase yield per unit area. Leaf angle and leaf orientation are very important traits affecting maize plant type (compactness). In this study, a genetic linkage map containing 138 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers was constructed based on a mapping population consisting of 500 ...
